Burushaski is the most widely spoken language, but the majority of the population is also fluent in English and Urdu, making communication easier for visitors. The weather in Hunza is pleasant from April to September, making it ideal for light woollen clothing. However, during the winter months, heavier woollen attire is essential to stay warm. The traditional clothing in Hunza reflects its rich culture: women often wear colourful knee-length dresses paired with shalwars and embroidered hats to protect their heads. Men typically wear Shalwar Kameez, and Pattu (a hand-woven woollen material) is used to create their traditional hats. In winter, both men and women wear flowy embroidered dresses as overcoats to stay warm.
